It is the job of someone mentoring a Planner creating his first event to prevent major errors. The failure to realise that control 9 was in quite the wrong place is entirely mine and I'm sorry it spoiled so many peoples enjoyment. There were contributing factors but no excuse.

Douglas..... if it wasn't for people like you being prepared to give up your time to help new members put on events, there wouldn't be any controls to misplace, so don't worry about it. Our Saturday League is all about relaxed low-key local orienteering that suits beginners and experienced alike, and letting new people have a chance to plan/organise without having to worry about perfection.  Anyway, thanks to technology Margaret and Eddie were able to remove the offending article from the course times so no harm done. Nice of you to own up though, and by the way I thought that Bernie did a great job.
