This event will be on a newly-updated map of Quarrelwood by Jon Hollingdale.  7 courses with Registration and Parking at Spynie Village Hall (NJ182640), signposted off the A96 3 miles West of Elgin. Unfortunately the hall committee are now unable to do teas/coffees (as previously advertised) but if we can find someone else to do basic refreshments we'll update this info page.

Please see the updated flyer on the link below.

Courses available:

Course lengths / climbs (subject to final planning/controlling)

Brown           9.0k 330m
Blue              6.3k 240m
Green           4.3k 170m
Lt Green       4.0k 120m
Orange         3.5k 120m
Yellow           2.6k 50m
White            1.9k 40m

Start is 350m / 35m climb from Spynie Hall. Finish is similar distance / descent

Course notes:

CRAGS MARKED AS IMPASSABLE ARE IMPASSABLE: COMPETITORS MUST NOT ATTEMPT TO CLIMB THEM!

Brown, Blue & Green courses visit several of the old quarries which are a feature of this area. The terrain in these areas is steep and rocky, and competitors (older or younger) who wish to avoid this should select the Light Green course instead, which is almost of equivalent technical challenge (because given the number of paths in the area there are very few genuinely TD5 controls)
Light Green, Orange, Yellow & White courses do not enter the old quarries

The White course uses a section of path which has become rather muddy in places in recent weeks - depending on weather conditions in the next few weeks wellys might be a good idea!

All maps will be 1:7,500, waterproof paper, with control descriptions & legend. Loose control descriptions will also be available. White & Yellow course maps & control descriptions at registration, all others at the start.

Provisionally: Brown, Blue and Green will be A3, Light Green, Orange, Yellow & White A4
