(3rd Oct) Sanquar - A thankyou from the organizing team

Fiona Newcombe (Course Planner)
Sanquhar provided a sunny, beautiful and short-notice setting for the event, when the original venue of Phorp could no longer be used, due to tree felling works. A big thank you to Donald for bringing forward the updates to the Sanquhar map - it was great to be able to use the area north of Sanquhar Loch. This meant a road crossing and many thanks to our road marshalls, and all the other volunteers. from tent erecting to control collecting. who helped make the event a success.

Sanquhar is a thriving community woodland used by many people in many ways. It has been used for several recent orienteering events, all factors that make it a challenging venue to plan. For this event, it was rewarding to hunt down new control sites, and to plot legs that approached 'old favourite' control sites from new directions, and that provided route choice.

Nikki Howard (Organizer)
Well it looks like you all excel in the Sauquhar woods and sunshine having seen the results. A big thank you to all those who helped and a well done to Fiona Newcombe and Chris Spencer for three excellent courses.

The chocolate prizes for the fastest finish leg on each course were as follows:-

Yellow course - Lani McGee

Your chocolate will find you! Look forward to seeing you all in Culbin shortly
